Site: New Design? More Updates? Another Author?

Lately, I've been spending time thinking of ways to make the site more efficient, so much time in fact I wrote myself a list of things I'd like to see accomplished with the site.

· New Design
Not that I feel there is something graphically wrong with this design, I just feel it does not do our visitors justice. Now I'm not sure who we can contract to design and code a different design, but the layout needs immediate work. The design would be just perfect if COStandUp.com were a blog-based website, but we want to focus more attention on the idea of having all of the content promised accessible from the front page. Think HipHopDX.com ( http://www.hiphopdx.com/ ). Plus, I feel the site takes a bit longer than it should to load. So, if you have any suggestions on a designer and/or website coder, let us know!

· More Updates
Updating more goes hand-in-hand with a new design. A new design will provide a better layout with more space to do with what we want. If you notice, the 'Spotlight' feature still has not come into play and it is mainly because we would like to allow more ease of use. Yes, we will be implementing it within the next week and you will be able to vote for Jan/Feb spotlights at the same time, but I'd like to be able to feature more articles, upcoming shows, reviews, releases, etc, without them getting lost in other posts.

· Another Author
More updates would lead to the need for another author. We are always looking for new authors and you can send a resumй to resume(at)costandup.com, but we have another in mind. We hope, a team of authors will be able to update on a more daily basis to bring you the latest in Colorado Hip-Hop, without duplicating other posts from other blogs, and still redirecting you to those blogs and their quality posts (check the feeds to the right).

What I'm asking from you!
I'm looking for design suggestions, site suggestions, and any comments on the ideas I have come up with before I throw this at the COStandUp.com team and try to work with the idea. Again, I believe the site is in the right direction, and so far we've been getting massive and great responses to it, but I'd love to attract more fans, and even turn some people into fans by visiting the site. That's where you come in!
