A 'Breath' of 'Fresh' air
What's the deal Colorado?! WAKE UP! Now if you ain't been sleepin' lately you'll know that since the Scribble Jam 2008, back in October, a new crew is on thE prowl. The Fresh Breath Committee, or the FBC, came out of the smoke last year coincidentally in result of creative differences (or beef as I'd rather call it) with another Colorado hip-hop crew who I won't name but I'm sure you can figure it out...
It started when Flawless of On Point co-hosted the Box State MC Battles, that in turn networked the two-man group with Purpose, a regular contestant to the weekly battles, and Kontrast. Now the four MC's at this time belonged to the unnamed crew along with Catch Lungs, and when they split, all five networked to form the FBC.
Today, the committee forms a group of universal talent and a number of members: On Point (Flawless & Fo Chief), Catch Lungs, Purpose, Kontrast, Crystal (female vocals), DJ Skip Ripkin (Lordz of Finesse/Against the Grain), and Hi Res (producer). The crew have been involved in multiple shows together since their formation and even featured on Q's hip-hop blog at the Westword called the Rap-Up (http://blogs.westword.com/backbeat/2008/12/rap-up_fresh_breath_committee.php).
